Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Project Accounting
Analyst to join our finance team. This position will be responsible for supporting the
financial management of various projects by ensuring accurate accounting, timely
reporting, and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have a
strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to learn and grow within the
field.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage contract setup of projects (addendums, change orders and
    cancellations of contracts, etc.). This includes initial booking entry (New
    Booked Sales) and budgets & billing schedule set up.
  • Analysis of revenue and costs incurred under both percentage-of-completion
    & stand-ready revenue recognition policies under ASC 606.
  • Creating of general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries as
    needed or required.
  • Assist Project Accounting Manager with month-end close duties for Projects,
    Purchasing and Inventory
  • Assist Procurement and Accounts Payable with purchase order & invoice
    related issues regarding project expenses to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Commission Management from start of project to processing earned
    commission and reconciliations of individual Salespersons Commission
    Account.
  • Provide supporting documentation to include project expense Invoices,
    billing and receipt histories across various functional areas as needed (i.e.
    Operations and Bid department)
  • Other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned to further support Project
    Accounting.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2 years minimum accounting experience
  • ERP experience preferred (Oracle a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work
    collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and take
    on new challenges.
  • Previous internship or coursework in accounting or finance is preferred but
    not mandatory.
