Spray-in-Place Pipe Rehabilitation

1 min read

Benefits

  • Operating Cost Savings
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Time Savings

USG Water Solutions’ Spray-In-Place-Pipe (SIPP) Rehabilitation process scours underground pipes and lines them with an epoxy coating, extending their service life and avoiding major excavation and system downtime.

Challenges

  • Aging infrastructure
Drinking water is delivered via one million miles of pipes across the country. Many of those pipes were laid in the early to mid-20th century with a lifespan of 75 to 100 years. Aging water pipe infrastructure leads to pipe degradation and main breaks.
  • Water quality
Decaying pipes can be plagued with heavy tuberculation, biological buildup, and corrosion.
  • High maintenance costs
Aging pipes require more maintenance, and pumps must work harder because of corrosion and mineral buildup – resulting in pumps wearing out quicker and higher energy costs.
